Let’s keep it real, one of the most important questions you’ll ever ask in this life is “Am I going to Heaven?” And here’s the thing, eternity is too long to be wrong. This isn’t about religion, tradition, or being a “good person.” This is about your soul, your forever, and where you stand with God right now.
Some people think that if they try hard enough, do more good than bad (this was me), or go to church every now and then (this was me), they’ll earn a spot in Heaven. But the Bible doesn’t teach that. In fact, it says the opposite. “There is none righteous, no, not one” (Romans 3:10). That means none of us can earn our way into Heaven; we all fall short of God’s perfect standard. No one can be a “good person” enough to be right with God and go to Heaven.
So, how do we get right with God? And how can we know for sure that we’ll spend eternity in Heaven?
-Why Getting Right With God Is a Big Deal
We were created to glorify God and have a relationship with God, but sin broke that relationship. Sin isn’t just murder or stealing, it’s every time we lie, lust, hate, or put anything above God. And the price of sin is serious, the price of sin is a death sentence, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)
That “death” isn’t just physical, it’s spiritual separation from God forever. That is Hell. Hell is a real place! But God didn’t leave us stuck there. He made a way. Jesus! Jesus Christ, the Son of God came, lived the perfect life we couldn’t, and died on a cross to take the punishment we deserved for sin. Then He rose again, defeating physical and spiritual death once and for all!
-But Why? Because He loves you.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
-How Do You Get Right With God?
It’s not religion. It’s not about checking religious boxes. It’s about turning from sin and trusting in Jesus fully. That’s what it means to repent and believe.
You don’t clean yourself up first, you come as you are. And when you truly put your faith in Christ, God forgives your sins, gives you a new heart, and writes your name in the Book of Life. You become His child.
“If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
Salvation isn’t earned it’s a free gift. But like any gift, you have to receive it.
-Heaven Is Real. So Is Hell. And Your Soul Matters.
Heaven isn’t for “good people” it’s for forgiven people.
If you’re still unsure where you stand, don’t wait. None of us are promised tomorrow. Jesus is calling you right now, not to shame you, but to save you. Not to condemn, but to restore a lost relationship you didn’t even know could exist. “For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” (John 3:17)
-Ready to Get Real With God?
If your heart is stirring right now, don’t ignore it. God is reaching for you.
I experienced a spiritual battle you may be going through right now. The Word of God even speaks of it, “For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” (1 Corinthians 1:18)
-Talk to God. Surrender
It can sound like this:
“Lord Jesus, I know I’m a sinner. I believe You died for me and rose again. I turn from my sin and trust You alone to save me. Come into my life and make me new. I want to follow You, now and forever. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
It’s not magic words it’s a real heart turning to a real Savior. To a God that loves you to death, literally.
If you prayed that today or want to learn more, contact the best Christian friend you know and let them know what happened. Get started at a Bible-teaching church near you.
Heaven is real. God is real. Jesus is real. And Jesus is your only way.
“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’” (John 14:6)
